WHAT TO BRING:

Affidavit of Residence

6th grade students and new students: 2 proofs of residence are required for the affidavit to be notarized. 6th Grade Affidavit of Residence

7th and 8th grade returning students: proofs of residency are not required if address has not changed. An affidavit must be signed and notarized for all returning students. Notary will be available at no charge. Returning Students Affidavit of Residence
ImmunizationAll students must have a current updated Georgia Immunization Certificate on file.  2014-2015 Immunization Requirements

Student Fees– Hall locker with free agenda: $11. Gym locker: $5. New PE uniform shirt/shorts: $9 each. Used PE uniform shirt/shorts: $3 each. You may also place money in the cafeteria account, purchase a yearbook, obtain bus information, fill out medication forms, and purchase various other optional items. Both checks and cash will be accepted. NO CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS.

If you are unable to attend Information Day, students will be able to conduct transactions during the first week of school.

Mr. Vance Named Asst. Principal Of The Year

vanceAssistant Principal Matt Vance was recently named the 2014 Georgia Northeast Learning Community ‘Assistant Principal of the Year’ and was one of the finalists for the designation in all of Fulton County.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Matt Vance,” said Holcomb Bridge Principal Joy Schroerlucke. “Mr. Vance has made a measurable impact at our school for twelve years—and his recognition across all of the Northeast Learning Community is well deserved.”

HBMS Book Fair November 11-15, 2013 Preorder The Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck

doawkThe Book Fair is coming Nov 11th-15th. You can help support our Media Center by pre-ordering the next Jeff Kinney book in the Wimpy Kid series – The Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck.

Click on the link below, print out the order form, fill it out and enclose the form with $8.49 payment in an envelope and bring to the Media Center. All orders are due by October 25th!! The books will be shipped directly to the school and given to your homeroom teacher. Order form in English and in Español. More information about the Book Fair will be posted soon. Parents: Volunteers are needed to help set up, work during the Book Fair, and help pack up!

Red Ribbon Week

redribbonRed Ribbon Week began in 1985 as a campaign to educate our children about the negative effects of drugs and alcohol after D.E.A. Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena was killed by a drug cartel. Please show your support by talking with your children about how to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Monday: Red Ribbon Week Kick-Off
Tuesday: Wear your favorite sports team apparel
Wednesday: Bring a new pair of socks for donation to North Fulton Community Charities AND wear your own red, crazy, or mis-matched socks
Friday: Wear something RED and/or your “Stick to a Good Plan” sticker and receive and I Care Buck

With the implementation of the Fulton County Charter System and now our very own initiation to the School Governance Council, I am asking you (our community) to play an active role in the vision and direction of Holcomb Bridge Middle School. By serving on the School Governance Council you will have the opportunity to positively impact our school like never before.

Please join me on Tuesday, October 1st at 6:00pm in the media center at our very own Holcomb Bridge Middle School for a community information meeting! Let me show you how to become involved!

New requirements for ALL school volunteers

As of July 1, 2012, Georgia law states that anyone volunteering in the schools, anywhere within the school: classroom, Media Center, or on field trips, is now a MANDATED REPORTER and is required to report any suspected child abuse or neglect. We cannot allow anyone to volunteer if they haven’t completed the following steps:

Please take a few minutes this weekend to fulfill the 3 requirements listed below.

1. All volunteers must complete the Parent Volunteer Video http://media2.fultonschools.org/DistrictContent/Training/ChildAbuseandNeglect/player.html slideshow and submit the Certification to the front desk at Holcomb Bridge MS.

2. Provide the Volunteer Abuse Training Verification Form http://school.fultonschools.org/es/medlockbridge/Documents/Volunteer%20AbuseTrainingVerification%20Form.pdf

3. Submit the Volunteer Information Form that can be found at http://portal.fultonschools.org/departments/Operations/Safety_Security/Documents/Volunteer%20Information%20Form%202012.pdf.

ALL THREE forms must be completed and submitted to the front office in order to volunteer at HBMS.

Caring and Sharing for teachers at HBMS

Hello to All HBMS families!

Did you know that teachers have to spend an average of $400.00 of their personal money for school supplies for our children?

We are kicking off our Caring and Sharing program during Curriculum Night this Thursday August 22 at 6:30.

We will have a box at the front entrance of the school to collect school supplies that our teachers might need throughout the year. These supplies will stay in our school and benefit our children.

Please go to the dollar store and grab a pack of pencils, a stack of paper, or anything you know your child forgets, and let’s stock pile supplies for our teachers!
