Our 8th graders will have a fun-filled day as they celebrate Georgia history and all they have learned in Georgia Studies this school year. The event was funded in part by a PTA mini-grant and activities will include making homemade butter, creating clay pots, making fried pies, making Coke floats and learning about the history of Coca Cola, and much more!!
**We need 2 shifts of volunteers to make this day truly special:
12 volunteers are needed for each shift. Teachers will be present to lead the activities and volunteers will be there to assist them. There will be an optional training session (30 min.) on Thursday, April 18th at either 8 am or 3pm in Room 416 at the school.
If you can’t volunteer for a shift, we also need volunteers to provide a side dish or dessert for a Southern style lunch for approximately 50 volunteers, speakers, and teachers who are helping to implement this exciting event.
If you can volunteer for a shift or provide a side dish or dessert, please email Amy Pauls at firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know which shift you can work and/or what you will provide for the volunteer lunch. Thank you so much!
There will be a General PTA meeting on Wednesday, April 10th at 8:30am at HBMS. The 2013-2014 board will be elected at this meeting.
All members are welcome to attend!
